My indie rock/rock survey

Analyzing survey results

The results of this question shows that there is a close number of male and females that like the rock/indie rock genre, with more females liking it. However this may be to do with the number of male to female ratio that I sent this survey to but overall both genders like this music genre so i will make sure my magazine suits both.

This result clearly shows that all the people surveyed were between 14-18 so I will have to make sure my magazine suits what younger people like to view and read so I can attract the right audience. I kind of expected this result as all the people I sent this to were around that age, so next time to make sure the age of people are reliable, I will send it out to more people of different ages.

This result shows that music is a big part of my audience with the majority listening to it everyday. This suggests how much music is part of peoples lives, so it helps  me to understand that my magazine will have to be great quality to meet how much they like music.

The majority of results show that my audience have a limited income. Due to the age results as well, it  suggests that they are students and living at home off their parents rather than themselves. This helps me to understand that I will need a magazine that is priced moderately so they can afford to buy it.

The results of this question gives me an idea of what musicians fall into this category and which artists my audience like most. This shows which musicians I could write about to attract my audience and make sure that they will enjoy my magazine.

This result shows what type of free gift will attract my audience into potentially buying my magazine. It shows that most liked vouchers or gift cards with posters and CD's coming up second. When I produce my magazine I can use these results and include a free gift that will attract my audience into reading my magazine.

The results show that everyone surveyed goes to a live music event with most going under 2 times a year. This helps me to know how much live music events to mention in my magazine with it being a moderate number, as the results show not everyone focuses on live music events in my genre. It also give me an idea of using this result to give away music event tickets in competitions, as its something people like to see but maybe cant always afford.

These results shows how people listen to their music, with the highest result being download and only one other, answering CD. This suggests that when I mention an artist in my magazine and talk about their music, that I should use these results to help them listen to the songs by suggesting to visit Itunes or spotify.

These results show how my audience listen to their music with the main one being via phone. Again if I mention about an artist I can use this new knowledge to give the audience a way of viewing their songs.

Lastly the results of how often they use the internet helps me understand that the internet is a vital role in how my audience socialize or obtain information, so if my magazine was properly manufactured I would also create a website for my audience, so they could view my magazine online and keep up to date with all the content and latest news in my genre.
